Julia Morris

When I reflect upon my interest in learning everything I can about the brain (the most complex organ in the universe), it takes me back to my childhood and living in Kenya, where I encountered and many diverse and challenging experiences. I have always spent my spare time reading books on psychology, the brain, the body, human relations, and holistic wellbeing. I have come to understand what mental health really is and the power and the complexities of the mind. I advanced my passion and studied Counselling, I love to walk alongside and help others to overcome life’s hardships. The main modalities I have been equipped to use are Person Centred, Solution Focused, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I continually study new releases of information regarding health and wellness. I completed an additional Suicide Prevention course recently which is an area I am able to specialise in. When trauma hits the brain metaphorically, it needs time and support to heal exactly like a wound or a broken leg would in order to repair. My mission statement is to help clients get through these difficult seasons whatever that may be for them and assist them in the repair, recovery, and life longevity after.

I am committed to self-development in this field every day. I have set up Expressive Therapy workshops in my local area where anyone can join through the current waiting list. My practice aims to highlight the complete body and mind connection taking a holistic view on all elements of human well-being. I am confident in my abilities as a counsellor, and to act as a tool clients can utilise in their self-development and healing journey.
